Maneater: Truth Quest is the first big paid expansion for the very first shark-orientated. Maneater is available on PC (via EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. In this upcoming DLC, we may get to see more Apex Predators because there’re many options from what we don’t already have. Maneater’s original version contains other Apex Predators that you’ll need to eat to become the real top of the food chain. In Maneater, you play as a Bull Shark, one of the world’s fiercest shark species, known for their aggression. You’ll need to own the base game in order to access the DLC (which a number of you may have recently acquired thanks to PS Plus). There’s no exact release date for the expansion yet than this summer. Hoping to share more information very soon. If all of that sounds dandy, you can pick up Truth Quest for all available versions of Maneater for 14.99. Today, in an official AMA on Reddit, Maneater art director Sean McBride confirmed that a Maneater DLC is on its way:ĭLC has been confirmed! The team has been working on it for a while now. If you pre-order Maneater before its release date on either PS4 or Xbox One from GAME, you will be rewarded with a Tiger. Starting as a small shark pup, you are tasked with surviving the harsh world, and as you eat, you become more fierce and bigger. The release date for Maneater on PS4, Xbox One and PC is May 22nd, 2020. Maneater Truth Quest DLC is expected in mid-2021 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5 (the game is also available on Switch). Known by the nickname SharkPG, the game is developed and published by Tripwire Interactive. "Maneater isn't a perfect shark simulator, but it is a fun and funny one whose positive adaptations outpace its drawbacks.Maneater is an action RPG in which you play as a man-eating shark, and your main goal is to eat as many creatures as you can to get to the top of the ecosystem. "With the sharply written, hilariously delivered narration and story beats to freshen up the experience as you go along, Maneater becomes a goofy, fish-flopping romp, with a good balance of limbs to sever, boats to wreck, and challenging creatures to render into bite-sized chunks," reviewer Phil Hornshaw said. GameSpot's Maneater review scored the game a 7/10. Maneater launched for Nintendo Switch in May, but the Truth Quest DLC has not been announced for Nintendo's hybrid platform. It is not a standalone expansion, so it requires the base game. There are new objectives, too, including "Failure to Communicate" (tail-whip objects to destroy a target) and "Time Trial" (swim through rings in the allotted time). Helicopters will now come after you, while the military forces hunting you down now have more weapons and vehicles. What's more, the game's bounty hunter system-which calls in the government to take you down-sees some updates with the Truth Quest DLC. The level cap is increased to 40, while there are new enemy creatures to take on. So that’s exciting and they will be rolling out updates and patches frequently. In Truth Quest, you'll swim through a new location-an island off the coast of Port Clovis, and you can make your shark even deadlier with more evolutions to grow into. Not sure if anyone has heard yet but tripwire has already split up into two teams with one focusing on the main game and another already prototyping dlc ideas, so yes they do plan on doing dlc but not too sure of what as of yet. Westhaven believes he has uncovered new secrets and conspiracies about a killer shark created by the government. Fully Evolved For Xbox Series X The next evolution of Maneater is here with full utilization of Xbox Series X including native 4K HDR support at a buttery smooth 60 FPS, lush new lighting effects and more Full support of Smart Delivery ensures that when your console evolves, Maneater will too. As announced previously, Truth Quest features additional narrative elements that continue the storyline of journalist/narrator Trip Westhaven, who is performed by Chris Parnell of SNL, 30 Rock, Archer, and Rick & Morty fame.
